Before entering the fashion industry Christal Williams worked for the City of Toronto. She had no previous fashion experience, but Christal always loved fashion. From dressing friends, family and sometimes even strangers, she quickly became the go to for fashion advice in her circle.
In 2019 Christal attended Toronto Fashion Week and fell in love, she knew this is what she wanted to do. Over the course of the next couple of months Christal began working within the industry assisting and eventually keying on a number of shoots with Toronto photographers. She studied and learnt from fellow black stylists like J. Bolin, June Amberose, Law Roach and Kollin Carter and found her inspiration and motivation within the likes of beauty and fashion mogul Rihanna, who has been a trailblazer for black immigrant women, like Christal, in the fashion industry.
Christal has achieved many accolades in her short time as a stylist. She has secured multiple front cover spreads and features in publications like The Kit, Vulkan Magazine, Living Luxe Magazine, Image Magazine, Pump Magazine, Anon Magazine and Vogue Italia. Christal's list of clients include Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew, Hudson's Bay, Urban Planet, Joe Fresh, Trimark, Unbound Merino and What's App.
Christal has also worked with multiple music artists such as OVO's Roy Woods, 2x Juno nominated Tanika Charles, Juno winner Kirk Diamond, DJ Charlie B, Liyah and Juno nominated Tafari Anthony. She has also styled for the likes of ETalk's Traci Melchor, Actress Amanda Bruegel, Social Media Star Donté Colley and Actor Stephan James.
In 2022, Christal was included in the Canadian Fashion & Arts Awards inaugural New Generation List celebrating new, inspiring and innovative Canadian voices across multiple creative fields.
Christal continues to grow as a stylist and believes that everyday is an opportunity to learn if you pay attention to the lesson.
