Toronto-native, Ashley Readings fell in love with hair and makeup while studying art at OCAD. Captivated by the creative possibilities of the beauty industry, Ashley enrolled in hair and makeup classes immediately after graduation and never looked back.
Ashley's work has taken her behind the scenes on TV spots for CBC (Steven & Chris), Bell Media (many commercials), TSN, MTV and Much Music. She recently completed two seasons of Iron Chef Canada where she provided Hair + Makeup for celebrity host Gail Simmons and following that, worked on Where To I Do, providing grooming for host Tommy Smythe. Her television experience also includes The Arkells' hit music video for "The People's Champ", and a Vanity Fair video featuring Samira Wiley.
She has worked extensively with The National Ballet of Canada, which has given her a wealth of experience when it comes to creating impactful looks that are meant to move and last under lights and on-stage.
Working with cosmetic brands like Clarins, Face Atelier, Make Up For Ever, Stila and Yaby Cosmetics has provided Ashley with the opportunity to explore products and techniques from a range of viewpoints.
For Ashley, it has always been extremely important to always show diversity in her work and to demonstrate a constantly evolving aesthetic that is inclusive. Empowerment through beauty has always been her mandate.
Paired with her easy going nature and strong work ethics, she is in demand with celebrity clients and musicians which include Sally Field, Grace Mahary, and Sonequa Martin-Green.
