Sarah Wu is a floral designer who draws equal inspiration from the curve of a tulip stem and the shape of a letterform. She runs Petite Studio, in Parkdale, Toronto, where she focuses on flower work and graphic design. She joins the Plutino family as a floral specialist/stylist.
Sarah is certified as a professional floral designer by the Canadian Institute of Floral Design and is also a part-time instructor at the school. Her work in florals has been strongly influenced by her earlier schooling (a Bachelor of Design degree from York University/Sheridan College) and career as a graphic designer (at a leading boutique Toronto agency).
Sarah''s floral knowledge extends beyond aesthetics and covers the practical –- recommending botanical varieties based on season, caring for and conditioning of blooms, and sourcing from floral suppliers/wholesalers. What further sets her apart from the floral pack is her understanding of the advertising and design worlds. She works to spec; knows about page trim; asks how typography relates to the shot; respects a budget. Sarah's experience on both sides of the fence makes her an ideal collaborator. Her sunny disposition is just a petite bonus.
Sarah's florals have been featured in campaigns by Town Shoes and Maison Birks. Her work has also been published by Best Health, Canadian Living, Covet Garden, Elevate, Today''s Bride, Weddingbells, The Wedding Co., and WedLuxe
